Installing 12 volt power outlet
I wanna install a 12 volt power outlet on my 99 ezgo txt for charging flashlights and using a spot light.....my question is how would i go about installing it, P.S. I have a separate battery that i run all my add-ons to, its not hooked up to the cart.

Re: Installing 12 volt power outlet
I drilled a hole ( a Speed-Bor will work for your plastic body) right next to the charging port to install mine. I use that same socket to trickle charge my 12 v battery. The tip goes to +, the outer wall to - .

Re: Installing 12 volt power outlet
Use the same 12 volt battery and hook red+ to center of outlet. Hook black - of battery to side of outlet. Done. You may want to put a inline fuse on one of them.

Re: Installing 12 volt power outlet
I like the idea of running it to a dedicated seperate battery but is there a way to isolate 12 volts out of your battery bank or is that a bad idea? I am thinking of adding a 12 volt power outlet for misc accessories - mostly running a small clamp on fan to blow on passengers while sitting still.

If the Amp draw is low, say an Amp or three, you probably won't cause any problems, but if it is high, it'll imbalance the battery pack and shorten the life expectancy of the batteries. Installing a separate battery (Deep cycle type) for accessories, is best. |

Re: Installing 12 volt power outlet
Thanks that makes sense and I have a battery for a trolling motor that we aren't using which I can put in the space I have on driver side.
