Default 1981 club car slow speed fast speed

I have a 81 club car 36v that sometimes when i push the pedal it starts out fast and sometimes very slow. when it is slow if i stop then push the pedal quickly it takes right off. what part do i need to replace?

Sounds like the solenoids are intermittent... given the wide range of the problem and the age of the things, I suggest you change out all 5.

may not hurt to change out the microswitches also............................

Personally, I have a 1986 resistor cart that has given me nothing but headaches and I'm not messing with the resistors any more. Every time I fix something, something else breaks because of the age of the parts.

I'm going to get a conversion kit from Scotty as soon as the funds are available to get rid of the resistor set up and bring it into a more reliable configuration.
