A timer is better than nothing I suppose...

I have a working '97 OBC I would be willing to part with for a reasonable fee.

If the OBC is bad, I can supposedly bypass it on the cart and hook this up to my charger (the way I read it) and it will do the same for more than half the price. Anyone using one of these and if so, is it worth it? Oh and let me add, I have a PowerDrive charger. It says Lester type charger. Not sure what is meant by that.
Before doing the usual "throw parts at it until it works", perhaps you should explain why you think the OBC is bad?

I see way too much of this on forums. On this forum, everybody thinks it's the OBC, or motor brushes. On the motorcycle and jet ski forums, it's always the CDI.

(And it's never the CDI.)

When I plug it into the charger the charger will not kick on. I have to bypass the relay in the charger to get it to charge manually. The relay in the charger seems to be fine. It kicks on automatically when I plug it into my buddies buggy. Only thing left is the OBC, right? I've checked the fuse. Tried to reset the OBC,etc.

I have another post trying to figure out a similar thing. The only difference I have is I can't get jumping to the solenoid to start the charger so I can't say for sure what's wrong.

Sorry I plugged my charger into my buddies cart (exact same cart I have) and it worked just fine. So I'm pretty sure it's the OBC at this point. Any more advice?

Buy a DPI charger, eliminate OBC, sell factory charger. The difference should be close to buying just the OBC.

I been meaning to post for a while. I purchased the part, installed it per the included instructions, and it has worked great. Just thought I'd let people know in case other are having OBC problems. It's less than half the price of a new OBC.
