98 DS 48V Charging problem
Well Iv'e been through the forum and seen this question 100 times. But havent really seen my exact problem. Hope you all can put me in the right direction. 1998 DS 48V (6-8V) Power Drive Regen 2 with a Power Drive charger. I tried reseting the obc with no luck, all connections are clean and good. What I have is.... I plug charger into 110v, Plug charger into cart, The charger clicks on for about 15 sec. then clicks off. amp gage jumps for a second up and right back down (0) then it will try again with same results. It has worked fine all summer, Just started this during the last week.
Any ideas? Other things to check? |

Re: 98 DS 48V Charging problem
So is that telling me the relay is good and the obc is bad? Can I test it the other way by bypassing the obc?

Re: 98 DS 48V Charging problem
they your charger on anmother cart if you can see if it does the same thing, it sounds like one of the diodes in charger went bad, it may not be cart but if charger works on another cart then yes its quite possible OBC went................................

Re: 98 DS 48V Charging problem
So if i'm doing this correct, I put a jump wire between the Gray wire behind the plug and the (-) on the #6 battery The relay clicks But still no voltage on the amp gage. And I checked the fuse on the back of the plug appears to be good. So both ways no charge is happening when a jump wire is used. Anything else I can try? I'm really stuck

Usually a local golf course will have carts and chargers, have you looked there?
