Default JAB. Just another build.

2000 Ezgo TXT pos - cost:$0
We need a flatbed truck to haul both clean and dirty linen because the limo cart ain't getting it done in a timely manner.

We got the cart free so be easy on me about the rust. We are on the coast and this cart has lived within 1/2 of the beach it's whole life. Not to mention it's an Ezgo.

The plan is to stretch it 36". No fancy controller or k/a motor....not even gonna paint the body. This is a working cart just like our other 7 and appearance is not as important as function.

So here is what I started with.

wow,nice cart for free!
I made most of the frame of my 77 myself so frame rust for a work cart is no big deal.

It has a jake front end and a major rear lift. The suspension is about as stiff as I've ever seen. My 210 lbs won't budge the rear springs so I'll need to look at that. The brakes, wheel bearings, steering, and rear end will all get serviced.

The disassembly went well and only took 3 hours. That's when the rust really showed up. As you can see in the pics I have a bit of extra work to do.

For some reason I'm missing pics...oh well I'll continue anyway

My thoughts exactly. Either I'm committed now or I should be.

Thanks Tdump. No batteries and an issue with no go. I didn't care about that since we have plenty of good spare parts in the shelves.

While I have both halves to where I can flip and move them around we'll be jumping around a bit to keep from having to crawl under it to grind, weld and paint.

So I cut 2 pcs of 2x1 14 ga tubing 5' long for the main chassis. The chassis was cut near the center. I notched the pan and cross members so the new tubing would go thru them.

That arm is bent up so that I could grind the old weld off. It will go back in place.

No way JD. They had a for sale sign on it 2 years ago for $3200. I offered $800 last year. Got it anyway.

I rolled the front end over and welded the main chassis tubing into place.
