Why would you use the OBC stud?

So that you can upgrade the cables on the cart to larger gauge ones and still keep the function of the OBC. The hole for the neg. wire in the OBC is only large enough for a stock wire to fit through, the stud must be used if you go any larger.

Yes, from that and the other cables going into it. There was a thread on here some time ago that explained how the OBC works - some guy took one apart and basically reverse-engineered it to get all the answers he was looking for. It's over my head, all I know is for the OBC to work you need that wire, or a stud with the larger upgrade wire attached, passing through the OBC.
