steering bad
Can anyone tell me if the precedent club car has the same kind of shock tower as the DS. I read the stickies but I think they were for DS models.
I have one that the right wheel is turned about 10 degrees to the right when the left one is straight. I know it has been wrecked. I just can't see anything bent, and I don't know what I'm looking for. Help needed. Thanks all Sonny |

Re: steering bad
I would guess maybe the steering gear over extended and is now screwed up, or could be a tie rod issue, etc. May even be a bent spindle. I personally have not owned a Precedent, so I can not speak with any kind of experience, except for that with my DS carts

Re: steering bad
The steering can be adjusted with the tie rods.

Re: steering bad
You need to check your front end bushings. All Club Cars need to have them replaced periodically, depending on usage. Grab the top of that wheel and pull out while looking at what moves. The A-arm and spring bushings degrade and get play in them. You need to use OEM bushings, as we lost a lot of money trying some of the aftermarket offerings out there. Truth be told, when it comes to Club Car parts like this, the dealer is normally the cheapest.
Edit: The part number you are looking for is 102289901. Retail price is about $32. It will have the bushings for the two A-Arms and the front spring, as well as the tubes. The factory tubes make all the difference and the aftermarket units had tubes that were 1-2mm short, causing problems. Once you change these, you will be able to see if anything is bent when you are reassembling the suspension. The A-arms should be straight, but the shackles also sometimes get bent. For a first timer, it could take you 2 hours, but we do them in 20 mins. Please let me know if you have any questions. |

Re: steering bad
Thanks for the reply . All of the problems are a direct result of an accident.
No problems till they hit a wall. Now right wheel points 10 degree to the right. I can not see any bent parts. Is there any way I can just check the steering sector by it's self????? Thanks Sonny |

Check the bushings first.

Re: steering bad
Checked bushing and they are fine. Steering sector?????
Not sure what could bend and not be able to be seen. were talking about 10 plus degrees to the right. Only thing that looks out of place is the steering sector being more extended on one side. Not sure this make any sense. Sonny |
