Re: Plumquick
BINGO......Sportcoupe hit the nail on the head. if you look closely at all of Plumquick's up graded motors on their website.....every page gives you the spec's for the SEPEX motors, if you have a SERIES cart, to get the correct info you need to call them as ask the questions.

Re: Plumquick
This quote is taken from their site ad regarding the Bandit motors. It clearly implies alterations to the motors.
Purple motors are upgraded stock or aftermarket motors that you, the customer ship to us for speed and torque performance upgrades. I know a local dealer that swears by the Bandit upgrade, for it's performance, speed/torque, enhancements. I'm sure they will jump in here eventually, but to blow them off as just a rebuild, (or any other custom cart motor builder), seems to me an implication they are offering less than true advertisements. |

Re: Plumquick
They emailed me back and said to expect a 20% increase. For $ 225 I may give it a try.

Re: Plumquick
Don't forget to add shipping your motor both ways.

Re: Plumquick
My cost was right at $300 with shipping and I live in Missouri. The motor I sent in was in good shape. It was just slow.
I upgraded my cables to 4 ga and my battery pack was new in Sep 2013. I tested my speed right before I sent the motor in by gps and I had already upgraded the cables. The speed increase I got was strictly from upgrading the motor. They told me to expect a 20% increase too and I got more. That hill I tested it on is a pretty long steep one in my neighborhood. |

"read the statement at the bottom of the page" Steve, I would suggest spending the money on a new battery pack before you look at getting new upgrades. The battery pack is the foundation, without a quality battery pack your not going to get full potential of any upgrades. I've come to the conclusion by past and present posts that we have a "Sexual Intellectual" unfortunately every site has their share of them! |

Re: Plumquick
Stock series ezgo will do 10-12 mph with no mods. Even a 20% increase will be ~2.4 mph increase. I just don't see spending $300 for 2 mph. Sorry.

Re: Plumquick
but if you look at it overall by time you do some upgrades in the future you could potentialy get alot more speed, Im at 21mph right now with 48v upgrade and 400amp alltrax spm on a stock 96 series motor, so 20% of that would take it up to 25.2mph. Not too bad for a series cart. But I guess that is the nature of series carts.

Re: Plumquick
17 on mine.1990 stock with 8 year old trojans passing voltage tests.Goes a tad bit faster than my 2011 Precedent with code 4. I agree-not worth it for the small increase in speed. However, I'm retiring in 6 months and may do a frame off restoration, in which case I will spend way to much money anyway! The EZgo is part of the family and I have to keep it going! Thanks for all the comments.
