Swapped to shorter belt - questions!
Swapped to the shorter belt to offset my 22" tires. WOW what a difference, its like a different machine at low speeds. Crawled right up some hills with two people I couldn't go up by myself at first even with a running start. My buddy has a stock 09 with the 350 and we both have our governors adjusted the same, we raced from a stop today and we were dead even until around 18MPH and I pulled away from him. I know my tires give me the speed, but with the larger tires, smaller motor, and I weigh more to outrun a stock cart with the 350 really impressed me (this was up a very light incline too). Two things, it has a very slight "jerk" right before the belt grabs and takes off - Im assuming this is normal and is just the belt grabbing? Also, - it makes a different noise now than before if I were to take the parking brake off and slowly roll down the driveway. It doesn't do the typical "whine" that is gone and replaced by a more subtle noise. Is this normal? I'm assuming the belt is either grabbing something it didn't used to when free-wheeling down the drive? Also, a faint "bump, bump, bump" noise while doing this that was not there before. I'm sure everything is OK but wanted to ask someone else that has done this mod.

The shorter belt will be very "grabby" until it breaks in. It will diminish over time. Not sure about your noise issue. If it seems to be working then go with it.

What would this shorter belt do for performance on cart sitting stock?

More torque, a lot more, but you'd lose some top end. Not enough for me to notice but I do have larger tires which adds top end...

Re: Swapped to shorter belt - questions!
It forces the clutches to stay in lower ratios and higher engine rpm which is why you get more bottom end.

My whole property is hills. I'm only looking for low end. Where do you get the shorter belt? How do you know which one to buy?
