Default 98 ezgo gas robin 295cc won't rev

I have set valves , timing. Tried 3 carbs, great spark compression 180 both cyl. Hotter plugs everything new . Loosened exhaust. Starts great no matter if pedal is half way or to the floor will not rev up stays about same speed. Adjusted micro switch to carb. Motor sounds smooth and great . Please help

Broken cable or slipping ?
Put in neutral & block tires, then lift seat as you press accelerator to see if the linkage moves

See if the exhaust is getting hot. Sounds like it's just turning on the starter.

I don’t think your engine is actually running. Just the starter/gen turning it over.

As cart around said, see if the exhaust is getting hot when you have it "Running" ? It makes a huge difference in diagnosing for the fault.

And as he and CP241 said, it is probably just turning on the starter, not actually running. The hot or cold exhaust will prove either way.

Yes is running it takes long time to rev up. Spits fire out or carb. Finally when revs exhaust glows red hot. 4 carbs, 3 coils, 3 sets plugs. Checked timing and set valves. Really lost on this one.

Your compression figures need checking again. Fire out the carb usually is a sign of poorly seating inlet valves. Overheating exhaust means it is also running very lean. Take the valve cover off and see if the two inner valves show more thread above the locknuts than the outer two. If so, take the head off and check valve heads are not sinking into the seats first. Then we can move forward.
