Default 48v to 12v reducer

In there process of installing a reduced to run led lights. I have the black and yellow connected to the lights and the red and black wires connected to battery pack. After connecting red positive wire to pack then attempting to connecting black wire to negative the battery I am getting a battery spark. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks
