Buying First Cart - help with model

For $2600, I would hope it had 4 good tires, that it runs well, has no dents or body damage, and some sign that it had been recently serviced. No leaks, rust, or rips in the seat.

Add a lift kit, wheels, tires, back seat and windshield, and you're still a long way from the price of that blue cart.


It looks like they've got some G16's in this pic. That's a great cart, too.

$2600 is a lot for a cart thats been on a course that long (i see the whole family is still together). I was thinking more like "4 year course lease, then sold to private". We did not sell too many of the "saddle" seat/top equipped carts. If i were looking at one, and was considering keeping the vinyl seats, i would want "ivory", because i know they are made from material that regularly lasts 20 years in the desert sun (easily the best in the industry). Too bad the Drive seats arent made this way. My G9 seats are dirty and abused, and still intact with no "sunburn" or rips.

I paid $1650. for that green one I did. But it needed the carb cleaned out and didn't start when I went to purchase. But it cleaned up to look like new when I power washed it!! It was 2005.

Guy did say they "came from Nebraska and Kansas" so the seasons are shorter, not using them year round like texas or arizona...so that makes sense I guess. Sounded not negotiable. Sounds like they all have some level of scuffs and scrapes. And they're almost 4 hours away. If I could smell a deal I might drive out there. I might consider one of the already modded buggies but I'd really like to do a long travel setup and paying full retail for a lifted cart that I'm going to redo suspension on doesn't make sense either. EVERY modded cart here regardless of year seems to be listed for $4500 give or take. As I'm sure it's similar with you guys...the fun is in the deal!! :-) I can go stroke a check for an $8k custom cart (and take a $3k hit when I sell it), but where is the fun in that!!??

Even if you only wound up saving $250 by building it yourself, its still the best way. You get to build it exactally how you want.

Having a hard time getting over the condition of the older G22 rental returns. They all SEEM like they should be $1200!! I went and looked at some newer G29's at a local dealer...uhhhgh...shouldn't have done that!! Like a big stupid kid in a candy store! :-)) I was armed with the knowledge of those carts with the Team setup vs the newer carts with the similar to g22 clutches and rear axle. That Team setup looks very sketchy...internal brakes and design looked awful. However the newer 2013 looked really nice and serviceable. Also got to compare some EZ GO carts, 3" vs. 6" lifts, etc. So it was a worthwhile trip. Not sure on the EFI for modding? With the kids driving this as well, it doesn't need to go 30 mph by any means.
