Default 07 Precident battery light turns on

I have a 2007 Precident and when I take off the battery light comes on. I have 48v at the batteries. Can someone point me in the right direction?

I’ll throw the charger on there and bring them all the way up.
I put a volt meter on the positive of one and the negative of the other and I got 48.1v. Is that low enough to cause the light to come on?

Yes it is. That is like 48% SOC. Full charge is 50.9 volts....

The light comes ON when the OBC detects more than 75% of the batteries capacity has been discharged or the "no load" voltage is 48v.

Great information! Thank y’all for the help. I will put the charger on it tonight.
Hopefully that will speed this thing up a little too. It takes off like a rocket and then falls on its face. Might have to order the aftermarket magnet for it.

that stupid light is like the check engine lamp on most cars. Mostly ignored, many times useless. Great for panicking people though.

BTW sounds like you're experiencing speed sensor fault. The magnet is NOT always the cause.

How would I go about checking the speed sensor?

With the Tow/Run switch on RUN and the key switch OFF, push the cart by hand (Forward or Reverse).

If the cart offers resistance against being pushed and the reverse buzzer starts to buzz after a few seconds the speed sensor circuit is working.

I will try this when I get home. Unfortunately either my buzzer has been removed or just doesn’t work at all. But I can at least check for resistance.

Where do they hide the buzzer on this cart? I haven’t had any luck finding it.
