I'm no expert, but I have an ezgo with a 16 hp vanguard and I was useing the ezgo clutch. I had it machined to fit the one inch shaft. Mine did what your saying and also seemed to shift slow and not take advatage of the rpm's the engine can make. I tried different springs, it made it better so I thought. Then I bought a cvtech 6 and wow, much better. The only thing is I'm not sure if it'll work for the club car do to frame issues. Lack of room. just going of stuff I read. I don't know club cars. So to answer your question, yes I do believe you have a clutch problem.

Dude, If you have the room for it, the cvtech 6 for the one inch shaft is awsome. I'm sure you would be much happier with it. Got mine from cart parts plus a site sponser.

Hay smokey, just a thought but maybe I should give you a measurement from the engine to the end of the clutch. because I had to put some washers on my shaft to move it out to line it with the driven. Be right back.
