Replaced the batteries, now the radio doesn't work! Please help!
Recently had all 6 batteries replaced in my EZGO electric golf cart by a dealer. Today, I went to turn on the radio and it didn't work. In fact, the little switch that much first be turned on (it had a red light that lights up when the switch is powered on) before the radio is powered on didn't even light up. Of course, the radio didn't power on either. I'm a complete idiot when it comes to electronics but I'm hoping that someone here can walk my hubby through how the thing was supposed to be correctly wired--I have zero chance of the dealer assuming any responsibility for fixing it, unfortunately.
I really think that something didnt get wired up after the new batteries were installed, since everything worked fine prior to the installation of the née batteries. Please, please can someone help! |

has the radio worked at all since the new batteries were installed? Sounds like they might have forgotten to connect a wire. Look for anything not connected in the battery compartment.

Also it would really help to know what year and drive model cart you have. They are not all the same... if you don't know ~ a few pics posted from under the seat may tell.
On a wild guess you have a TXT (plastic body) Cart, there is a Fuse holder and wire supposed to connect to the positive post on the rear center battery. |

Re: Replaced the batteries, now the radio doesn't work! Please help!
Thank you everyone for posting and helping. I've attached a few pics of the current wiring. I believe the cart is a 1998 model (I bought it used). My husband followed the wires from the radio to the battery and he believes that its the ones attached to the lower far right battery. There is a toggle switch that must be powered on before the radio can be powered on (picture attached). Obviously, both red and black shouldn't be attached to the positive terminal, as they currently are, but where should they be attached? Thank you all in advance for your help.

not knowing exactly how that is wired, all I can do is guess......
I would say move the black wire to the negative post of the battery directly behind the battery it is currently installed on..... |

If in fact these are the 2 wires for your radio/ lights ( 12v accessories ) then they are on the positive post now of battery # 3 see black circle. Leave red wire there and move the black wire to the neg post of battery #4 see Red circle. check the fuse and test.
Important! Flip the RUN/Tow switch on the controller cover in the back of the pic to TOW before any electrical work, and back to run when the work is complete. |
