Re: g2 gas wiring
You can get a new one from Yamaha for about $75.00. Other wise you might be able to find a used one.

Re: g2 gas wiring
Sometimes you can find one. There are not too many around. A lot of times they are in bad shape also. What problems are you having with yours?

Re: g2 gas wiring
:The guy I got it from had it running then said it stopped because of a fried wire that was cnnected to the ignition coil ......there is burnt up wires in a lot of places now than I look at it ,I can't get anything to happen by having it hooked to battery like it should but when I use jumper wires from battery directly to the two smaller hook ups on the solenoid it will start rolling over just fine so I checked spark by making it rolll over that way and there's no spark

Re: g2 gas wiring
I'm having a similar problem with my G9. The wiring was a mess. The previous owner made some really sloppy mods (headlights, key start, who knows what else). He cut wires and abandoned stripped + wires. The 10 amp fuse was replaced with a 30 wrapped in aluminum foil.
Last week I was gaping the valves and developed a short just as I was calling it a night. As I was going to bed I noticed smoke coming from the engine area. I disconnected the battery and found the ignition coil really hot. The next day I determined the ignition coil and the spark plug (resistor) cap were fired. I replaced the burnt wires and rang the rest out with my meter. It took a little time. After getting replacement parts I still can't get a spark and since there isn't a diagnostic test for the ignitor (and everything else seems to ring out), I have ordered a replacement. In fact, the only ignition part that I could determine was okay was the pick up coil. If you have a multimeter, you should be able to go thru the wiring and ring everything out. It'll take about the same time as replacing the whole harness. I cut out and spliced any suspect wiring. Of course, I won't know if I found everything until I get the ignitor. I share your frustration. John |

Re: g2 gas wiring
thanks for responding i appreciate it ....i do have a multi meter do you know what is is suppose to be at the coil? I have continually been tinkering with this and still have no results upon cleaning everything up and looking the previous owner has cut in and spliced and pieced the harness together with different colored wires than the specs so it makes it even more challenging and the key mechanism is there but has no key and looks like the key slot is not there the previous owner said it was in the on position but i dont know im new to carts and need help lol
