I think you may want to go back to the ignition switch and either replace it or make sure it is in the on position. The previous owner might be wrong.

is there any way i can tell its in the on position the internals are pretty much gone to the switch if i stick a screwdriver in there its just spins round n round lol and is there a way i can hot wire so to speak ...or replace with a toggle switch? any help would b greatly appreciated i would love to get this cart going again

You should be able to jump the red and black/red wire. I don't what your skill level is so be careful, I can't be responsible for any problems. Electrical problems can be tricky.

skill is moderate i know my way around working on stuff just dislike electrical lol so your saying to put a jumper wire connecting the two specified wires? and that makes it in the on positon? im just thrown off because there is 4 wires and i didnt kniow what theyb were foir

It looks like I read it wrong. It is the brown and the red. My old eyes are not what they used to be. It should be brown and the red.

The other 2 wires are for the small red light that should be on the cowl area. If you had a good switch that light is to check the low oil level sensor. If you would turn the switch half way the light should come on, that would tell you that it was working.
