Default Ezgo txt 1999 electric hub and brake replacement

I'm a noob and not a mechanic. But I have half a brain lol. I replaced the brake shoes. Bought new hubs. Ive replaced a hub before. It went on the spline no problem. This time it seems too tight and won't go on the spline easily. Before I hammer the thing on I thought I'd ask for some advice. I bought after market hubs. Two different brands and both have the same problem. Any advice?

I've not personally changed hubs on a golf cart but I've been a union Millwright for almost 10 years and I would visually inspect the spline very carefully and check for any areas that have been deformed. It could be as simple as cleaning up the splines with a small file. However I'm sure someone will chime in with some other good ideas. Good luck

Can we assume you are sure the adjusters are retracted all the way and the shoes are properly seated in both the adjusters and top bosses and that you have the right yr shoes? Can you give a model # for the shoes and year for the cart?

Take the shoes off and see if the hub will slide onto the axle easier.

A mad scientist might grind off some of the shoe foot where it sits in the top boss to reduce the overall diameter of the pair.

Jaxx.....you came to the right place to up your cart knowledge......

and btw.....Congrats on the new ride and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to BGW. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wives’, husbands, girlfriend’s and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!
