G1 engine assembly
I am planning my attack on putting the two halfs back together with new bearings.....do I put the bearings in the case first or on the crank first? anyone willing to help a guy out with a pdf manual? or we can just start a thread that will be really long with all my questions

Re: G1 engine assembly
I install the bearings and seals in the case halves first.

Re: G1 engine assembly
I'm with small block I like to know bearings are seated completely in case then install seals.... I also like to freeze the crank over night and then install case haves it goes on easier puting less side presure on the bearings also rub a little oil on the seal where is rides on crank this will help keep it from rolling over when you assemble it.... That being said some others do it opposite

Re: G1 engine assembly
I don't have the case sections in front of me .... do I "home" the bearing right out into the halves? also what should I use for the sealant between the two halves?

Re: G1 engine assembly
Silicone sealer is not resistant to gasoline for long term, so Yama bond sealer. The manual is available.
