Default Brake pedal does not press the brake light switch

How do I get the brake pedal to press the plunger on the brake light switch?

I replaced the brake light switch.
Now the brake lights work when I use a tool to press the switch by hand, but not when I press the brake pedal through normal driving.

Any insight?

Pic 1 is the pedal.
Pic 2 is the back of the brake pedal;
Pic 3 is a close up of the back, zoomed in on the switch plunger/roller;
Pic 4 is the type of switch.

If the mounting screw holes are not oblong to adjust the switch closer to the rubber pad then you need to maybe glue a spacer to the underside of the pad or maybe tweak the roller arm of the switch up a little bit.

Now that you mention it, the top mounting hole may be oblong. I'll have to check.

Bottom part of pedal should be two plates that pivot. Yours look welded.

Bump to update. The top mounting hole is oblong, so I was able to adjust it to make contact. I appreciate the help.
