Idiot Question on Reverse cable removal!
doing some routine maintenace on Yamaha G9 last night and went to put cart in reverse. something didn't feel right when i turned the lever, after checking it appeared that the bottom cable (at the tranny switch) was locked up.
i shot some penetrating oil into it and am hoping that tonight after work all will be healed. just in case, and we all know i should replace it, it doesn't self repair is there an easy way to remove the cable from the rear switch at the tranny. i have the back cover off and have removed the exhaust for easy access. it's amazing the thoughts that go threw your mind after you start tearing things apart. i could spend a bundle of money on upgrades/options if i am not careful. |

Re: Idiot Question on Reverse cable removal!
The penetrating oil should fix your problem. I grease all my cables periodically. If you have to remove them, it is not a big job: 12 mm wrench up front on the lever and simply pull the cables out and unclip them (so to speak: kind of hard to describe) from the rear. You can take a 10 mm wrench (sock and drive) and remove the entire lever in the back also if you think that would be easier: just try to mark how you remove it from the star wheel adjuster type piece on the rear axle housing so you don't have to readjust the cables with the lever.
