Re: Speeding Up A Ezgo St
Quote:
Factory governed speed for ALL ST models is 13mph (+/- .5mph). You have 13.32:1 gears in it now, you can drop in 8:1 or 6:1 gears and loose your hat. Relatively speaking, most people are happy with 25mph in a ST, just like you mentioned. The easiest way to get there is to install larger tires and tweak the govenor. A gear change is a lot of down-time and a fairly large investment.... considering you can get the results you want from another avenue. And I'm sure his dealer knew how to properly adjust the govenor. Some dealers are just more aware of the laws and their implications . Then there are guys like me.... because of my ties with the factory I SWEAR I get followed on the internet.... I'll probably even get another phone call for this one if they know I come here (Which Is why I haven't been posting here as much). Because of another forum, I had posted something answering a question on how to mod a 350cc, and I had my a$$ ripped apart. |

Re: Speeding Up A Ezgo St
that's BS, there. what does ezg0 care what we do with our carts? tell em to shove it up their pieholes, Bob!
maybe you should start a new ID, let us all know what it is, and they'll never know it's you. you could use something like Rob-O, or Bob-P, or Bobby-O |

Re: Speeding Up A Ezgo St
Salty, you switching to decaf soon? LOL. Hey, I just a note on this - we adjust the govenors on all our new carts when we get them in. Not a whole bunch, but enough to let the engine's work the way that they should. The Factory settings vary so much, I have to try to get them all equal. Besides, if we don't do it, then someone on a golf cart forum will tell them to use a zip tie or remove the spring and add washers - then the customer is screwed! Bob's knows his stuff - no offense is trying to be made here. My earlier post was merely stating that we set all our carts to just above the 'turd' settings that come off of the assembly line! Peace out :0)......

Re: Speeding Up A Ezgo St
Oh.... I do forget one thing, often
Almost all of the cars I'm used to are Freedom SE, HPs. Most other folks are used to the Fleet Model, or just straight Freedom SE.... which is a slow car . I understand why it is done, should E-Z-GO reps drop in (unlikely for dealers) then it is a problem. Because it is highly unlikely for an E-Z-GO rep to make unscheduled visits to dealers, then why make the customer suffer --- going fleet speed (13-15) really carbons up the engines over a year --- customer's suffer from poor performance ..... just so everyone knows I'm on their side , and I don't object to it... just sort of watch your tracts The problem that I run into is that my Dad works for E-Z-GO, and owns a Distributorship. I work at his Distributorship, and people from the factory drop in all the time.... If they see me adjusting the governors beyond factory specs, then my Dad could be fined and I could loose my Peanut Butter Money |
