Default 06 PDS is dead with new batteries

06 PDS does nothing when pedal is pressed. 38V across the pack, only 2V at key switch and no volts at either of the small posts on solenoid. Anybody have any thoughts?

check ALL conections on the cart.. grab and pull on them if you have to.. even the cables to the motor... Or it could be the reed switch you might want to jump acrossed it and see if that is it... hope this helps...

By reed switch do you mean microswitch? All connections are good and there should be 36v at key and solenoid correct?

Make sure the the switch on the controller cover is in run. Not being a smart ***. I did fix a neighbors cart by toggling the run tow switch.

Yes, You should read 36v positive at the key switch, too much less and the solenoid won't pull in (click)

I'm guessing the solenoid does not click. I'm also goingt to venture a guess that there is wire hanging under the cart that was connected to the main positive....?

Come to find out the pack might have been wired in reverse so main pos and neg were wrong when installing new batteries. There is no fuse inline so I am hoping something small fried before controller but does anyone have any suggestions? Can someone post a schematic for pds cart? Thanks

Ouch, sounds like it is time to upgrade to a DCX400PDS controller.

Here is a PDS schematic.
The Owner, Service and Parts manuals can be downloaded from this post in the Stickies at the top of this forum.

With two exceptions (the Reed switch and the Reverse Beeper), both the voltage source and the voltage return for all the control circuits is the controller, so with 2V at the keyswitch, I suspect the controller is toast.

With Run/Tow in Run and all the white connectors plugged into controller, you should have battery pack voltage on the following Pins at the controller.
J1 Pins 1,4, 5 & 9
J3 Pins 1, 2, 3 & 4
J4 Pin-2

Let me know which ones are low or missing.

Jonnie put a new controller and solenoid in and is still dead. Weird thing is I have 38v on both large solenoid posts and nothing at either small. No volts to key switch either. 38v on j3 1 and 4. J1 pin 5 and nothing at j4. Need help on this badly. Thanks
