36v solenoid w/ 12v coil

not golf cart related, i'm looking for a 36v solenoid with 12v coil on it
100% duty cycle probably 100 amp load, this is for a hydraulic pump

also looking for 4 contact 12v 60-100amp contactor, i can use 12v solenoids
but the contactor would clean up the package

my limited search turned up nada

The coil is the only thing that makes a solenoid voltage specific. So just get you a 12v solenoid that will handle ever how many amps you need.

Ford starter solenoid is the cheapest
NAPA or any autoparts store will have.

reworking the busbars on an SW-182 will get you a 2 pole
just order 12v coil.
whats the reason for 4 poles?

happened to think the starter solenoid is most likely a low duty cycle.
you need 100%?

you might want to consider a latching contactor then,no coil voltage is used to hold it in, only powers to latch and unlatch

What exactly are you looking for in the Solenoid contacts configuration?

Most of those solenoids like the one linked and sold as DPST actually have 1-NO and 1-NC contacts normally used for forward/reverse circuits.

If You want 2-NO contacts it is probably cheaper just to buy two separate 12v solenoids.

I would also just check amazon as they are cheaper.

working on a 36v low rider hydraulics system, need to charge 3- 12v batteries off an alternator and then use 36 volts for hydraulic pump.
i guess a 12v solenoid will work on 36v load? coil power will be different source than load

i need 7 solenoids: 5 on for charging, 2 on for 36v to pump
for as cheap as 12v solenoids are, i can't beat $14 at amazon

Are you trying to use these solenoids to reconfigure 3x12v in series to parallel for charging?

If so that is a real bad idea, without some kind of controller to properly sequence and verify each step, a single failed solenoid could short the batteries or back feed high voltage into your vehicle 12v.

Perhaps a "step-up" charger (like a solar charger controller) to go from 12v to 36v may be a better option for charging.

was thinking along this line, i'd think if a solenoid was to fail it would fail open
shouldn't see a whole lot of amperage to weld itself closed
