Default Which to buy PDS or DCS

I am looking at buying a newer cart and wondered if it was worth paying more for a newer PDS or are the DCS models good, climbing hills etc.

Thanks in advance

get the cheaper one. Eventually you might want to go upgrade, and most of times, controller is the first upgrade, DCS and PDS are about the same vehicle, the only difference in terms of perfomance is the adjustable regenerative braking of the PDS, the DCS regen is fixed. This gives the ability to the PDS to run faster on one of the configs that removes completely the regen feature (18mph). The DCS speed is always the stock.

PDS has a dash switch and DCS is a by the leg switch. With some skills one can even install a dash switch on a DCS.
If you planning to upgrade (or even if you don't, you will eventually want to I bet) to higher perfomance speed controller, both will be exactly the same once they have this type of controller and you'll be able to reach 21mph on either one with stock tires.

PDS carts are the newer cart than a DCS. The DCS carts were problem childs for Ezgo. Dcs carts are cheaper but are pron to problems. Controllers are light weights don't handle much abuse in the feild. Torque is not there and will burn up quickly when used in off road.
PDS carts have the ability to change settings to help with speed or regan braking effect. PDS carts the F/R switch is on the dash and in my opinion a lot better cart of the 2.

Andy hit it dead on the head. Buy PDS and forget the DCS. When we trade in a DCS cart we don't even try to resale it. We crush them. Neil

PDS is best over DCS as told if you WONT planning upgrade. I would analyze the usage, terrain and other affecting performance factors upon decision. A four seater for example on a mild to steep terrain will always need at least a controller upgrade with 4 big adults. Either controller, the DCS or PDS will likely to hit its thermal protection and quit on hilly terrains with over payload.

For sure a campground golf car PDS is much better than DCS. Nev vehicle most of users wants speed, torque, lift, rear seat etc. in near future, so if the difference is too high you should consider these factors.

If your dealer has one buy a fleet TXT car. Much easier and less expensive to upgrade. Also more after market motor and controller options available.
