I build my VC 460's on the breakfast bar where it is nice and warm in the winter. My main issue is carrying it down to the lower level after it is all assembled. I lay a big sheet of cardboard down and work away. My Omega short block built last winter is sitting the the spare bedroom waiting for this lazy owner to switch it in place of the long rod VC 460 now in the cart. BUT the long rod runs so good there hasn't been much motivation do the swap. P. S. I miss Shepard filling my head with visions for more speed. P.P.S. I bumped my Omega build to put visions of speed into your head

Took down the Greenhead traps today as part of winter preparations. I see unit #1 was very effective where unit #2 not so much. I guess either unit #2 will have to located elsewhere next season or eliminated all together.

I see on paulskarts on youtube he is showing a .517" lift at the valve with the Gorilla cam and Black Venom rockers BUT this was on a small block clone. Along those line I remember first adjusting the valves with VC torque cam and the NR 1.3 shaft mounted rockers. There was a BIG visual difference from the stock set up. That ends up a .325" at the valve which below the max of .35" for a stock valve and spring seat set up. If you want more lift than that the easy way is to use longer valve rather than machining the heads valve guides and spring seats.

I see on another site on facebook people have posted the coming soon pic of the harbor freight 459 cc predator engine . It looks like the 460 wildcat unit. No pricing yet. I see the 459cc unit is already in their 9500 watt inverter generator.
