Default GE Regen ll question

I have a 2001 DS with a GE regen ll controller. Will I benefit from a high speed motor on this cart or is the controller going to hold it back?

Depends how you need the cart to operate. The controller is always a holdback.

Good thing about the old Regen carts is you can disable the speed limiting very easily by unplugging the speed sensor on the motor. Then either remove or bypass the dynamic brake solenoid. It will do 22-24 on flat ground depending on tires, battery pack condition, etc.
You can put a higher speed motor on, just need to be careful of over-revving or you can grenade the motor. You won't have any extra power because the controller is the bottleneck, but the motor will be able to spin slightly faster which gives you some extra top speed. 25-27 maybe on flat ground, again depending on tire size and battery condition.

Unplugged speed sensor, no change I still have a whooping 12 mph. Batteries are 6 months old, 51 volts and all tires are full. I do not see a brake solenoid doesnt look like it has been removed frame where it would mount is as dirty as the rest of the frame.

It would be left side of the OBC, on the left side under the access cover with a coil on it. The coils are known to fail and usually people just bypass it. If it was bypassed the usual way is to remove the cable from one side and just bolt both cables together on the same side of the solenoid.

If you only get 12mph after removing brake solenoid, either controller is going out or it's not receiving full throttle signal from the Pie-wedge.

From the purple and yellow from the v-glide I have 3.5 volts. The Lever side does go all the way to the last contact, but this should be 5 volts correct?

And all motor wires go directly to the controller. No brake solenoid for sure

Motor A2 would go to the DB solenoid on those, so if solenoid is removed and someone just ran A2 to the controller then it will still work the same.

Can't remember of the top of my head what the output should be from the pot on those.
Check the resistors in the back of the box for any damage or broken wires.

All resistors look good. Cannot get more than 12 MPH. Changed the motor out with another CC stock motor with the same part# still 12 MPH. Put my meter leads on A1 A2 and drove cart I have 48.8 volts while driving and still 12 MPH. Am I missing something here? For sure not seeing the 20+ stated above

And to be clear this is a regen ll GE controller
