Good to hear, probably the noise came from the bearings. Did you changed the gear oil too?

Thanks!

I changed it out a few weeks ago. Luckily didn't have any metal shavings or similar in there. It was pretty old though for sure. The input shaft I took out was fine as far as wear on the teeth goes, but it didn't spin nearly as freely as the new one. When turning it on the bearings once removed, it was obvious it had some issues compared to the new one.

The Input shaft is at the highest point and get at least oil. Good to know, a new shaft can be a solution. I hope, you filled in limited slip gear oil, which is very important.

So, I used a mobil oil with the limited slip additive built into it. I feel like I saw some folks on here mentioning that type. Should that suffice? Or should I add a little limited slip additive as well?

I think it's fine with the Mobile oil, i've used a similar LS oil from Valvoline. Some recommend additional 2 oz. friction modifier too.
