Default New Toy -- G11"YammyHauler" Project

Well.......been a while since I've posted something on here.....

We picked up a new stable-mate for the ol' G9 this weekend. A "vintage" G11 "Yammahauler" (I think that's what they used to call these units).

Got a few things to do before it's "farm ready" though.
It's got a few rust issues here and there and there's some wiring oddities that have to be sorted out, etc.

One of the biggies it I'll need to get a lift kit and bigger tires for the beast.
I could use some recommendations on that.

I am planing on about a 6" lift and going with some 22x11x8 tires.
This will be a "working" cart...sort of like my G9. NO Evil Kenevil stuff. Just putting around the farm and toting stuff around.

Need pro/cons on the Jakes vs All Sports lifters.
I'm leaning towards the All Sports, because CP+ carries that unit and tires as a package deal.

I think this unit is either a 1995 or 1996. However, the serial number is weird. The serial if JJ3-0000*....which does not pull up on any search of serial numbers. I suspect that this cart was used at the factory as a "prototype". The factory is near here....Noooooo telling.

The sticker does say "Test Vehicle, Prototype, and Pilot Production", so looks like you may have a one-of-a-kind buggy. Way cool.

The 1993 G11 had a starting serial# of JJ3-000101, could be a prototype. A picture of the engine and transaxle would be cool. I saw one of the very first prototype G1-a's that came to this country and there was some strange things on it compared to the starting run in late 1979. Good luck with your project

Finally getting ready to order some parts for the G11.....project got put on the back-burner due to some health issues.

ANYWAY......I am wanting to go with 20x11x8 tires, since that's what I'm running on the G9.

Are there any problems running 8" wheels with either the Jake's, or the All Sports lifts?

Also....do I need to get the 3/4" offset wheels? I seem to remember reading somewhere that the "regular" wheels won't work.

I'm pretty sure you need offset wheels for both lifts, I know you'd definately appreciate the offset. I do believe they recommended 10" wheels for the lift when I got my Jake's 6" for mine. A quick look on Jake's website might clear that up for sure.

Well, I can't believe it's been over a year. But then cancer sucks pretty bad.
Anyway....after a LOT of tribulation we got the kit installed. Due to this being a prototype unit and having what looks like a G9 engine...we had to do some modifications to the Jake's kit. We had to cut up the "goal post" for the rear and weld the shock extensions onto the frame. One thing I have to say about the Jake's kit is that some of the instructions are a bit vague....especially regarding the sway-bar stuff.

So anywho....here's what she's looking like now. We still have a good bit of odds and ends to do to it, but the lift was a major part of the project.
