Default Carryall 6 key start problem

I have a 1999 Clubcar Carryall 6 that is giving me fits. It will not stay running when you let up on the pedal. It starts with the key fine but is a major pain to keep using the key to start it. I was advised by two different tech lines to replace the $50 dollar relay in the black box, which I have, and it hasn't made any difference. I cannot seem to figure out what to do next. I have had a dozen club cars that I have rebuilt, lifted, and did various motor swaps on, and this one is the only factory key start I have ever had. I would love to get it to work properly.... Please Help!!

Sorry that no one responded right away... about 97% of us have pedal start carts!

About 6 months (or so) ago, there were at least 4 people that posted about their "key start"
Transporters, and Carryall 6's that had your same problem!

2 of them had a bad microswitch (the one and only microswitch) in their Electrical Components Box,
1 had a bad relay
1 had a bad key switch
1 never replied back with their fix!

From what I've read... your choices would be to first to test, or replace the microswitch, (the cheapest)
and if that doesn't work, then test, or replace the relay (again) ...
I don't want to suggest replacing the key switch just yet...
the key switch is about the same $ as the relay, but it seems that a lot suppliers don't stock a 5 lug off/on/start CC switch.

First, test the micro with a VOM set at ohms, to see if it has continuity or not when it's opened and closed!

purchased it from a club car dealer this way about 5 yrs ago. They had no idea how to fix it when i bought it. I have changed the microswitch and changed the relay. One of the mechanics at a golf course advised that they will do that in service mode when it thinks it is in nuetral. I have tested everything i can think of and changed the setting around between service mode as well. Just frustrating when you cant get help from a club car dealer...... thanks

turned the idle up but it kills the ignition with the pedal so it doesnt really matter. Just a pain in the *** to restart with the key all the time while cruising around with the kids. All else fails i will just switch it over to a standard pedal start from one of my carts i have for parts.

I don't know what else to tell you!

I just checked all of your previous posts, and you were the one that didn't reply with your fix!
(probably because you didn't get it fixed!)

There's only one other thing that I can think of... (not sure if it's a good idea)
Zip tie, or tape the microswitch in the ECB closed, that's your engine kill circuit,
but I'm not sure if it does more then that!

I have a key start wiring diagram that may help!
The file is too large to attach, so a PM is sent for your e-mail!

I've seen the voltage regulator cause this problem twice. It's rare, but I've seen it.

Smokeydabear333 did you switch your cart to pedal start? We have a 2006 CC Carryall & want to change it over. Did you write an instruction manual up.... :) ?

FF Titus, can you PM a wiring diagram for a 2006 CC Carryall that is Pedal Start? It's key start now & can't keep battery charged. Goes down throughout the day.
