Default 1987 EZGO won't run

my 87 ezgo would not run, fuel pump wasn't pumping so I replaced it and the carb. Found out it has a blown head gasket on the upper half. Will this cause lack of fuel pressure due to lack of compression

Blown, or worn out crankshaft seals will cause the fuel pump to not work.

The piston rings, are between the head gasket, and the lower end. So no, a blown head gasket will not affect the fuel pump.

Thanks for the input, I went ahead and pulled the motor. Guess I'll try and locate the seals while it's out.

Well, the seals are both in place, any other suggestions on fuel pump not working.

Are they worn out?

If the engine is already out, I wouldn't put it back in without replacing the seals.

How are the rings? Any slop in the piston when you had the head off?

I'm not sure of the technique but I know you can blow smoke at low pressure into the bottom end to find out if and where you are leaking...when my lower was leaking I was loosing a little bit everywhere that added up to a lot, the crank seals the case split the cylinder gasket the head gasket etc
