How to make my cart idle instead of shutting off
I understand there is some potential safety issues but my thing is I keep my cart in a tight spot and it takes about 4-5 point turn to get it out and in. It's a lot of starting and stopping. I would like to be able to start it with the pedal but shut it off with the key. It must be possible just need help with wiring. It's an 01 club with the Kawasaki. Thanks y'all

Seen this the other day... Not sure if it's the right way.

Wow seems simple. Looks exactly like my set up. Different body but same engine set up. Will let you know how it goes.

Yep, that's the right way! (his terminology is "off a bit" though!)
BUT... I disagree with disconnecting the white wire/neutral cut off circuit! (you'll have some gear grinding issues) This is basically the same thing, but easy enough to understand... http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-c...dle-setup.html |

Re: How to make my cart idle instead of shutting off
I went through the instructions and removed the black wire in the box and tried to adjust the idle up. As soon as it's starting and starts to grab the cart wants to go forward so I guess it's idling to high but to low and I don't think it would stay running. Maybe that's what the guys talking about the spring mod we're having trouble with. Guess I have to leave it for now.

Re: How to make my cart idle instead of shutting off
I did this the other day for a member who gave me his hand-drawn version. This diagram is for 1984-1996, but I think the only difference would be the wires that attach to the starter-generator since the motors on the older carts spin counter-clockwise and your 2001 will spin clockwise. But you shouldn't have to touch those wires to make this change anyway.

So I did this, and turned my idle down to a point the thing is barely staying running, and when in gear it takes off. What am I missing?

Re: How to make my cart idle instead of shutting off
I personally had the dangdest time getting my cart to idle where I needed it to be. I cannot tell you how many throttle return springs I bought at the local hardware store. I finally ended up ordering an actual club car spring only then could I get it to work right. I also think there is something about the way CC carbs are set up for that stopping and start. But I believe that spring is the key to your problem. I have mine set to idle so low that I can switch between forward and reverse most of the time with the cart running

Re: How to make my cart idle instead of shutting off
Do you have the part number for that spring? I found a way to do it with a spring I have, but I had to hook the throttle direct, and eliminate the govenor. I don't like that idea. LOL
