Default 99cc ds how to hook up functional brake lights.

what's the easiest way to wire a switch to the brake pedal for brake lights, does anyone make a kit for this?

I haven't seen any kits, but if you put a thin flexible piece of metal under the floor so that the brake would hit it when you depressed it, it'd probably work. Just connect the wiring to each part to form the connection. Just a late night hillbilly engineering idea. Hope this helps!

There are kits for that!
Here is a copy of Club Cars original design for brake light switches...

https://diygolfcart.com/club-car-ds-...t-kit-1982-up/

It contains 2 switches, under floor bracket, wiring for the switches only, and mounting hardware.

1 switch mounts under the floor with the bracket, (there should be factory holes in the frame for the bracket)
and 1 switch mounts to the back of the brake pedal to shut the lights off when you set the hill (park) brake.

I for one, didn't care for the somewhat bulky switch behind the brake pedal!
and because my cart idles... I just used the switch below the floorboard, and wired it to the key switch,
so when I shut off the engine with the key and set the hill brake, the brake lights go out also!
