Default 2007 ezgo workhorse 295cc no compression

Hello all. Today I did a compression test on my golfcart and noticed the sparkplug had some sludge on it and no compression. Other cylinder seems fine with 150ish psi. What could it be and what needs to be ordered ? Thanks 😊

BTW.. if you're buying parts to rebuild, it would be good to know that's a 350cc motor not a 295.. unless it's been replaced.

Take off valve cover and verify Valves are all moving...also as mentioned in the other post verify piston is going up and down...

Yeah the side of the engine says 295 cm3 /cc . Maybe it isn't a workhorse and they added a rear dump bucket. The sticker with the VIN and such wore off so not sure if I can find out for sure

It is cast and etched into the sides of the baseplate of the block. Can't trust the timing belt cover...same cover for both 295 and 350s...if it was rebuilt by someone, it is possible they got them mixed up. One of my 350's had a 295 timing cover on it, so it does happen. The block will have a 29 or 35.

Thanks and do you know if it will have anything about the year?

Nope, but the numbers on the block base plate will indicate if the block is pre-MCI or the newer MCI block. Heads are obvious as the exhaust manifold is steel on the older ones, and separate from the head, while the MCI units are head has the exhaust manifold cast into it as one piece.

Check valve clearance, most likely some valve recession. This is common with these motors. I would look for .003-.005" rocker to cam with the lobes pointing straight down.
