Peak / constant amp draw Stock TXT PDS 36V
I have an 04 36V TXT PDS cart - stock configuration.
Any ideas on what I can expect for current draw? Namely MAX that it would pull in a bind (up a steep grade). I am not sure what the specs are on the stock setup. I have seen 250-350A controllers mentioned. Thanks kindly in advance.. |

I thought the PDS was a 235 amp controller. I'm sure someone can chime in and let you know the max amps of the stock controller.
I see 75 amps continuous when driving on flat paved roads, but my cart is very different than your cart so your draw can be very different in a stock PDS. |

Re: Peak / constant amp draw Stock TXT PDS 36V
Generally stock carts with stock tires pull 50-75 amps at wide open throttle. Starting uphill may see momentary pulls of 100-125 amps.
Adding big tires, back seats or any other way to increase the load will increase the amperage draw. With big tires I see 100-200 on hard starts and at slow speeds you can see sustained draws of 150-180 and here is where the motor heat and the battery depletion begins. Low battery charge is also another cause of high amperage consumption. I recently had a client burn up a new motor with weak batteries and long rides. |

Re: Peak / constant amp draw Stock TXT PDS 36V
Thanks guys.
Got it up and going. @scottyb was right on the money. shows 60-75ish cruising at max throttle on flat ground and logged a max 210 on a hard start pulling a long grade.. I was worried about my BMS capabilities before my maiden voyage.. Absolutely zero issues encountered. Logged 18mi the 1st trip and just over 20mi trip (day) 2 on the charge. Left me at 28% showing on the BMS software. They claim my distance should improve over the first few charges ▲▲ |

That sounds like a winner. What battery do you have?
