Default generator/starter running counter clockwise

I just bought a 2000 turf 1 carry all, generator is running counter clockwise.. sticker indicated clock wise . Took of the v belt, because it was having problem turning over/ ceasing... had to turn the generator pullie by had a few times to get it going..has anyone ever had this issue? Polarity on new battery is fine.. and triple checked the wiring.. I think its something internal with the generator...

Try this link... http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-c...tor-101-a.html ...it may offer some insight. Not the same year, but many similar issues. IF that isn;t helpful, let me know. I have been here, done this, and have a wholey tee shirt to prove it.

make sure you check the polarity on the generator. I know they can be hooked up worng and they still work. I have seen several come in that way after the customer put on the generator
