![]() Anybody ever hot tank their 2 stroke muffler??? I know BBQing it seems to be the preferred method, but I can't do that where I live. I was thinking of having a machine shop hot tank it in a lye bath to wash it out. That's what they do for engine blocks etc, so why not a muffler????? Comments????

![]() I know hot tanking removes the rust scale from an engine block, but most of what is in your muffler is baked on carbon. I don't know if they would have a way to circulate the fluid through the muffler. That is really what you would need. I'd just give the shop a call and see what they think.
