![]() That's not really a good test for a coil.To test the coil you have to set your meter to read ohms and test the resistance across certain points for it.I forget how to do it, or what the values should be though.Besides that, if your coil was indeed bad, that isn't too expensive.I think you could just slap in an automotive coil without changing anything else.
Of course you can do the HEI at any time you want.It will most likely fix your problem. But it sounds too trial and error to just do that without knowing exactly what's wrong. |

![]() Thanks! She's running good now, but she unfortunately is running very loud and I can't find the leak in the gas that is causing the noise. It's a little embarrassing right now to drive it around the campground because it is soo loud

![]() Glad to hear it! Make sure and get that exhaust set up nice. Smokers are fussy about the plumbing. You might try wearing a set of good thick welding gloves and with a rag in one hand and the cart up on stands and well secure have someone run the engine while you block the exhaust with a rag and gloved hand. You usually see any leaks in this manner. Could be your gasket right on the cylinder though. It's underneath so it isn't so obvious.
