Carryall running backwards when stopping
I am a newbie (first post) and am looking for some help with my 1994 Carryall II (EG9451). The cart runs great, but after it warms up, it tends to continue trying to run after you let off the gas pedal. Sometimes it even seems to reverse itself as it dies and actually travels a short distance backwards (1-2 feet). As it is shutting off, it coughs and sputters, much like a 1970's car with spark knock (remember when?). This only happens after running for a while, but we use this cart around our orange grove frequently. The picking season is fast approaching, so any help with this cart would be GREATLY appreciated.

Re: Carryall running backwards when stopping
The culprit is a bad micro switch. Not sure which one it is. There are 2 stacked in the black box at the end of the throttle cable.
Test them for continuity, not voltage as one is + and other is - ... see if one fails to operate properly. |
