Someone should make a sticky for " got my electronics wet"

I'll add that after you blow it dry I would spray all electrical switches and connections with w d -40. It was originally designed to displace water, hence the name water displacement test 40
Just wanted to say thanks for your smartass reply and talking to me like I'm a moron. Just so you know the cart got wet 3 weeks ago and I did read and search for my problem on the web before posting and already knew about making sure it was dry. People come on here to ask for honest advice on these things and not to be talked down to like your some sort of GOLF CART GOD. My problem was the speed controller and not **** still being wet. So next time you want to post something then why dont you post something useful. And thank you to all who did try and help me..

Your not serious are you? Everything I said was an attempt to help out as I've given that same advice to three people in the last month and they've come back here to thank me for the tip..
Maybe you've been drinking or something

Yes sir I went and picked up the speed controller today and replaced it. This is why I was asking about the resistor being hot. I had already dried out all the switches and connections. But as soon as you connected the batteries the resistor would start to smoke. It was drawing amps through the controller with all switches set to off. But thank you for your reply.

. . . I did not read his reply as being sarcastic . . . many people DO ask the same question about getting a cart wet and developing a STICKIE may be a good idea to pursue . . . that said, glad you found your problem and got it fixed . . .
