Default ignitor

hey guys i have a 99 gasser here and the owner tells me it has spark issues. he told me he replaced the ignitor years back. he thought that was the problem so i lifted up and was going to replace it and i could not find it. i just replaced one on a 92 and it was behind the rev limiter. i see there is a black wire going behind the engine shroud could the be it? thanks

The ignitor is built into the ignition coil. Sometime in the mid 90's they integrated it into the coil.

Yep! 1997 and newer!

I've been reading a lot lately that older Rev limiters can cause intermittent no spark issues,
Disconnect (do not cut) the ground wire from the left mounting bolt of the limiter, and tape it up to see if that helps!

In my experience with a fleet of Clubcar Turf2's , the RPM limiter can cause intermittent spark at any time with no particular pattern. If the ignition coil is bad, the vehicle will run until it warms up (about 5 minutes) and have a no spark condition until it cools again, pretty consistently.
