Default What year is my G1 Gas, chassis says J16- ?

I have looked everywhere to try and find out what year my G1 gas cart is but I can't find any information on it, it says J16-300349 on the chassis and engine says S215-300349

Is there a way to find out the year through the engine number?

Any assistance would be great.

Do I possibly have the 349th yamaha golf cart ever made?

My serial number isn't on any of the lists anywhere, the lists go J10/J17
And mine is a J16, it had a butterfly on the exhaust, that dhould hopefully narrow it down a bit???

That is very strange indeed. Maybe it was built on a friday and the guy stamping the serial number wanted to play a joke? With the solenoids you have and picture of the engine compartment 1979 to 1981. With the ending numbers of the serial# I'd say 1981.

I have worked on a G1 with a serial number that starts with J13. It is very similar to a G1 1982 model (J17). Probably made in Japan for the Japanese market.
