Throttle Micro switches
I'm an EZGO owner but I have an (undeserved) reputation as someone who can fix anything with a motor and so it came to pass that I was given a 2006 Precedent with some issues. In the course of fault finding I ended up with the micro switch on the throttle pedal and I pulled the black box off the throttle. Now with the thing in my hand I was able to determine that there are two switches in there and both are working so my question is purely academic, and here it is.
I tried to open the box and it appears that it is sealed up. I gently tried to prize the lid off but the plastic started to crack. I tried to gently tap on it with a similar result. So my question is, did Club Car seal that box to ensure that a $5 micro switch is actually a $100 module exchange or does that box open up? Dave |

Re: Throttle Micro switches
Yes indeed CTD it is that part. It should contain two microswitches, one to activate the solenoid (NO) and one to short out the coil (NC). It is my hypothesis that Club Car have sealed these microswitches up to force the owner to buy a vastly inflated unit instead of a $5 switch. Fair warning brace yourself for a rant.

Re: Throttle Micro switches
Thanks guys, had I needed to I would have taken a Dremel to it and got it open. My irrational rage is really directed at manufacturers who shake down their customers with this sort of nonsense. In this case there are just two switches in there (and even that is overkill as only one is required) so would it hurt to use a gasket and two screws or even a snap on lid? I guess it would hurt, hurt Club Car's bottom line.
