Is this normal? 2005 Ezgo ST350
I just bought this thing and don't know much about gassers. The first thing I noticed is that when I push the gas pedal the starter motor runs and I have to push the pedal quite a bit farther down before the actual gas motor will start. Is that normal or should the motor start when the starter turns? I don't know if that makes sense or not but that's about the only way I know to explain it. Also, the cart will move with just the starter engaged without the motor running at all.....Is that normal also? Please help a gas newb.

Re: Is this normal? 2005 Ezgo ST350
You have to push the accelerator down far enough to open the carb butterfly before the engine will actually "start",you will have a backfiring problem if you adjust the linkage to open the butterfly before the solenoid kicks in & energizes the starter.Sounds like the drive belt may be a little tight or just "sticking" a bit in the clutch causing the cart to move with the starter.
