gas cart wont turn over

i recently purchased an older ez go and it will not turn over. it has a new battery and when the kea is on makes a buzzing noise. i do not know much about carts as this the first one i have owned. any help would be nice

Hello danman and welcome to the forum. There is no problem that cannot be resolved here and there are experts in all fields. My particular area is the 1980 to 1988 PG2 engine but that might not be the engine you have so can you give us a clue? Perhaps the serial number and the manufacturers number that are on the passenger side of the center bump. Failing that a photo of the engine or maybe just tell us how many spark plugs you see. Do that and someone will get right back with you.

By the way unless someone has messed with it nothing should happen with the key on until the throttle is depressed.

i have figured out the issue of the turning over issue. i had a battery connection in the wrong place. now i have had it running for short periods of time. and the guy i purchased it from disconnected the throttle switch and alot of other stuff like steering, throttle and the breaks. this is all due to the fact that there is a 1987 honda 250x front clip grafted onto it and needs these few things fixed. i hope to post pics of it soon and i am going to try to document the process as i work more toward it getting back into operating condition.
