measurement help
hey guys i lost my digital caliper and need some help with some measurements
ok so if i have a 1-1/4" OD pipe with a .120" Wall would the inside hole be 1" and the OD be 1 1/4" ???? |

It depends on if it is tube or pipe.
If it is 1-1/4" Sched 40 pipe then the OD is about 1-5/8" and the ID about 1-3/8". If it is tube then the OD is 1.25" and the ID is about 1.01". This can vary based on the the grade/specification of the tube. Seamless, DOM, HREW, CREW, etc. all have different specs. Yeah, it can get confusing for sure. |
