Crank case screws
Hello everybody, i took my g1 apart to rebuild, and all the crank case phillips head stripped out the head so i had to use a extractor to get them out , so i went to the hardware store and bought some bolts for replacement, it should work better with a socket, i wanted to know do the bolts have to hardend? Im thinking it should be? Thanks.

Re: Crank case screws
Good question but I'm not entirely sure. I would think they should be as well.

Re: Crank case screws
For future reference use one of these (or similar) on the screws http://www.harborfreight.com/impact-...ase-37530.html
I doubt they are hardened or they would not strip so easily. I'm sure they are metric. I might put hardened allen screws in to replace them. |
