Default DS to Carryall conversion

I've been wondering about making the farm cart into a Carryall since it will allow for easier hauling. I was thinking of taking a sheet of diamond plate having it bent to fit. Has anyone done this or thought about it? I'm guessing the wheelbase on the DS is shorter than the Carryall so that may be an issue.

Just looking for inputs

I bought a cart with a corrugated metal body years back.
My old post should still be here somewhere

Just see what size those bolt on bed kits are and go from there. You won't be able to have as long of a bed I imagine. I was just looking the premade ones are 30 inches long. Not sure how long a carryall bed is.

carry all dump beds are roughly 4 x 4 feet... with the body and seat, best idea would be to buy a dump bed for it, and install, there smaller, but caryalls have a complete diffent body ans seat then the ds.

It can be done. I think it was in the craigslist carts thread but i saw a booty fabbed carryall. For the club car ds cart that i did for my parents i made a rear frame and put a bed on it over the stock body. Wasnt too hard but i still wasnt happy with it. I Just took it off and put a flip flop seat on it. I'll dig up a picture later.

Thanks for the opinions. I'm guessing everyone is thinking of the Carryall 2, from what i've gathered, the Carryall 1 is close to if not the same as the DS.

I have a regular DS and a carryall 1. Im pretty sure the carryall 1 is the same wheel base. There is plenty of differences in the frame and rear body but if you can weld aluminum it wouldnt be too hard to set up something like a carryall. Im a pretty decent welder. I got a spool gun for my MIG machine to work on my club cars but quickly found out you really need a TIG to do nice controlled welds on aluminum. Next time i have a grand or so burning a hole in my pocket i'll probably get a "cheap" ac/dc tig.

This is mine...serial number list it as a ds, but it is a carryall, only mods I have done are repowdercoat rims from white to blsck, and added the reflective tape for viability at night.

Harbor freight used to have a sweet little utility trailer. Not one of those sheet metal yard carts, i have one of those and it SUCKS!!! This one is setup like a real trailer with leaf springs and a real axle, ball hitch. Was pretty cheap and one of those HF things that was surprisingly nice. I looked online but dont see it on there anymore.

Something like this, http://t.harborfreight.com/870-lb-ca...res-42708.html
With the 20% off coupon its pretty cheap.
