Default wiring ideas for power port and future addtions

im upgrading to a 04 precedent ( from an 01 ds)

i've searched but cant quite get my head around what i'm trying to do.

i want to add a usb power port( charge phones, etc). and am thinking about running a aux fuse block & switch to power it off of, so i can then also allow for future additions.

do folks put the fuse block in the engine compartment or in the front dash compartment.

also, it it preferred to run these accessories of the key switch?

thanks for the advice.. im taking delivery in a week and want to get my wiring parts in before hand.

i've come up with this idea. allows all accessories to be ke switch, till using the fuse block located in dash area.

run 12v +/-to relay (12 guage) from battery , ignition wire from key switch cause relay to feed power to fuse block ( dash mount). fuse block will have negative bus, will splice into negative on 12v- line to to tie back to 12v- to battery.

all accessories will then be actually key switched. and I can still add rocker switches to manually turn each item on/off from fuse block

any issues with this thinking?

I've been debating the fuse block location.. It seems like if I put it in dash area there would be 1 set of wire to run instead of multiple.. But anything i think I might add on later will be front of cart, so for me at least it seems to make more sense .

I purchased one of these on Amazon a while back. I have not had the time to fab up a spot for it on my DS but I plan on mounting it somewhere near the battery.

Fuse Block
