Club car (DC) Issues
Hello Team, new guy here. My wife and I recently purchased a used Gas club car for our special needs son to get around with. We have had the cart 3 weeks and started having issues today.
1- He was driving it and the cart stopped. Restarted it and it went about 2mph afterwards. We parked it and let it cool off. 2- Few hrs later the starter would turn but it never kicked the motor off. 3- Few hrs lafter that I went out and grabbed a video of it. You can hear the starter turn for a few sec then kicks the motor on. It still only goes 1-3 mph. Any ideas? I'm not super mechanical but will be able to replace parts so not totally useless lol. Help me get this thing going for my little guy. He already is missing his ride. Thank you very much. Here's the YT vid. Bummer, won't let me post a video until I have been here a week. Sorry. |

Sounds like cart is not starting- broken accelerator cable? See if carburetor is opening

Video sent. Cart guy, it does start every 3-4 tries tho. But when it does start it's not moving hardly at all.

Here's his video. The motor starts and runs for a second but dies. Does it sometimes not react every time you hit the gas Mike? It looks like you pushed the gas once at first and the motor didn't do anything. Right off the bat it seems to me like a bad micro switch that's not making a strong connection, possibly on the shifter handle.

Yes sir, that's correct. I'll push the petal a few times before it kicks the motor on but then when it does finally start it moves slower then a crawl.

Re: Club car (DC) Issues
Ok so I went out just now and put the cart in safe or work Mode? Sorry don't know the terminology of cart lingo yet :). everything seems to work perfect. Fires up first try, clutch moves in and out, belts move fine, no stuttering etc. take it out of safe mode and starter doesn't enguage right away, motor doesn't seem to want to kick in to move the cart fast or at all.
